Notice of Board Vacancy and Application Deadline

Three Board vacancies open. Applications due April 3, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 1780, Sonora Elementary School District is accepting applications to fill three vacancies on the Board of Trustees.

Seats 1 and 2
Two seats are for four-year terms ending December 2026. These seats will appear on the November 2026 ballot.

Seat 3
One additional seat is for a four-year term ending December 2028. This seat will appear on the November 2028 ballot.

Application Deadline
All three applications must be submitted no later than Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

Completed applications must be delivered to the Sonora Elementary School District Office. Applicants must provide valid identification showing residency within the District at the time of submission.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Submit a completed application for appointment
  • Be a resident of the Sonora Elementary School District
  • Be a registered voter and at least 18 years of age

It is anticipated that candidate interviews will take place during a Special Board Meeting on April 10, 2026. This meeting will be listed as an action item on the March 11, 2026 Board meeting agenda.

Interested persons are hereby notified that, pursuant to Gov. Code Section 1780, there are three vacancies on the Sonora Elementary School District Board of Trustees.
