43rd Annual Turkey Trot 2025

Our time honored tradition for students, staff and families

Perfect Day for a Trot

On Friday, November 21, our last day of school before the Fall Break, students in 3rd through 8th grade took to the track for some pre-Thanksgiving fresh air and exercise. Some were in it for the Turkey Trot title, others just for fun, and they were all cheered along the way by fellow students and families.

Adding a fresh twist to our Turkey Trot tradition, Assistant Principal Read made the turkey transformation with her colorful new costume, making appearances all over campus and inspiring students to persevere as she ran…and ran, and ran some more… amongst the groups.

The starting line was set on the blacktop near our new gym. With families on the sideline and music blasting from the speakers, students took off across the field, then down to R12/PE. The biggest challenge followed, up the hill to the A Building, where they were greeted by the enthusiatic cheers of second grade. The excitement continued with first grade cheering at the C Building, and a mix of second grade and kinder at the cafeteria. The home strech curved around the cafeteria, and along the D Building to the finish line, where crowds were waiting with high fives for everyone.

The weather was perfect, spirits were high, and it was an amazing way to kick off Fall Break. We are grateful to all of the families who took the time to participate. This event would never be as much fun without you here to see it.

Props to the students who showed up with their great attitudes and amazing sportsmanship.

Enormous appreciation to Josie Alomia for coordinating the entire event, and to the rest of our amazing staff for all of their contributions toward this great tradition for our school.

And thanks to the Union Democrat for being here to cover it.
